Evidence-based public health (EBPH)

The application of the best available evidence (i.e., the most valid, precise, and relevant scientific knowledge) in setting public health policies and practices. The evidence may be derived from epidemiological, statistical, medical, economic, demographic, sociological, and several other scientific disciplines.
