The EU Enlargement & Integration Action Nutrition workshop will take place inside the premises of the Joint Research Centre (Centro Comune di Ricerca on the map), next to the lakeside village of Ispra (Varese, Italy).

Accomodation

Hotel Conca Azzurra in RancoAccomodation will be arranged by the workshop organisers for all invited participants at the Conca Azzurra hotel, situated in the village of Ranco, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, just 7 Km away from the JRC site.

 

 

Travel

BY PLANE
The main and nearest airport is Milan Malpensa International Airport. The airport is about 30-35 minutes drive from the JRC site.

The other nearby airports are:
Milan Linate (83 Km), Bergamo Orio al Serio (108 Km), Agno-Lugano(in Switzerland, 43 Km)

Transportation to and from the Malpensa and Linate airports will be arranged by the organisers of the workshop for all invited participants.

BY TRAIN:
The Province of Varese is served by both the State Railways and the Ferrovie Nord Milano railway. From Malpensa Intercontinental Airport (Terminal 1, underground floor), the Malpensa Express train connects the center of Milan (Cadorna station) with trains travelling every 30 minutes in both directions. A shuttle bus leaves every 20 minutes from Malpensa to the central Milano train station (Milano Centrale)

BY CAR:
Coming from Milan, motorway A8/A26 exit at Sesto Calende-Vergiate and follow the indications towards Ispra.  

About Lago Maggiore

Lago Maggiore is about 65 km in length, its coasts are in Piedmont, Switzerland and Lombardy. The lake offers many interesting places to visit such as: Stresa and the Borromee islands (Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Isola Pescatori), the Monastery of S. Caterina del Sasso, Angera and the Rocca Borromee castle, Laveno and Sasso del Ferro Mount, Villa Taranto and the Alpinia botanical garden.
