JRC contribution to "Nanosafe 2012"
3rd International Conference on Safe production and use of nanomaterials - 13-15.11.12, Minatec, Grénoble
|Contact Name||JRC-IHCP, Nanotechnology|
Over 370 scientists from different organisations and research institutions dealing with safety of nanomaterials met at Nanosafe 2012, the 3rd International Conference on Safe production and use of nanomaterials held at MINATEC in Grénoble on 13-15 November 2012.
Several researchers from the Joint Research Centre, Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (JRC-IHCP), Nanobiosciences Unit, contributed to the event:
- Karin Aschberger: “Defining occupational and consumer exposure limits for nanomaterials – first experiences from REACH registrations” (Session 12: Regulation and standardization for nano products)
- Luigi Calzolai: “Measurement Methods for the EC Definition of Nanomaterials” (Session 2: Detection and identification of engineered nanoparticles)
- Agnieszka Kinsner-Ovaskainen: “Assessment of cytotoxicity, intracellular uptake and intestinal absorption of amorphous silica nanoparticles in the Caco-2 in vitro human intestinal barrier model” (Session 3: Toxicology)
- Federica Simonelli (co-author): “Strategies for radiolabelling of carbon nanoparticles” (Session 2: Detection and identification of engineered nanoparticles) and the poster “Radiolabelling of engineered silver and titania nanoparticles as a tool for sensitive detection of nanoparticle release from surface coatings”.
Other presentations provided at the event will soon be made available by the organisers on the conference website.
