Validated analytical methods for the detection of nanomaterials in food and consumer products are urgently needed for the implementation of the EC Recommendation for the definition of nanomaterial and upcoming labelling requirements for nanomaterial ingredients in food and cosmetics.

The Joint Research Centre, Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (IHCP) calls for the participation in a first ring trial for a method validation study which is planned to start in September 2012.
