In support of its mission, the European Union Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM) depends on external independent scientific advice through various expert groups, most notably the EURL ECVAM Scientific Advisory Committee (ESAC).

EURL-ECVAMThe ESAC acts as a scientific peer-review body by providing EURL ECVAM with its opinion on the adequacy and outcome of formal validation studies carried out to assess the reliability and relevance of alternative methods, typically in the context of regulatory safety assessment.

The three year mandate of the current ESAC will conclude at the end of 2012: thus, interested and committed scientists who feel they can contribute to the important work of ESAC are encouraged to apply.

Please note that the deadline for application has been postponed: 15 January 2012 (midnight)
